How do you turn taxpayers into zookeepers?It's tough during a recession. Other zoo millages had crashed and burned statewide. But the zoo is part of Lansing's DNA—part learning lab, part legacy, part live entertainment. Voters voted to keep it with a stunning 69 percent majority.
